Land managers and fire services identify priority corridors, then contract grazing at suitable timing and intensity. Payments recognize risk-reduction work that ordinary livestock markets may not fund.
Grazing fits some fuels and terrain but not all. Ecological effects, animal welfare, access and repeated maintenance must be monitored.
