They also sell specialized metal containers that can be fixed in place. Cigarette litter often accumulates near trash cans because people hesitate to drop cigarettes into plastic bags — these metal containers address that. I worked with a local town to install 3 of these in a public park where I collect 1,000+ cigarettes per week. They will be installed this year; no data yet on impact.
