Heat, flame, smoke, debris, power loss and physical damage can disrupt critical systems during a wildfire. Failure can cascade when pumps lose electricity, communications depend on exposed towers, or evacuation routes depend on one corridor.
This issue covers the resilience of essential infrastructure serving communities. Ignition caused by infrastructure is treated under human-caused starts.
