A wildfire can grow rapidly between ignition and intervention. Detection systems may miss small starts, generate false alarms, or fail to cover remote terrain, smoke, cloud, darkness, and communications outages. Even when a signal exists, verification and dispatch can be delayed by fragmented systems.
The relevant outcome is not the number of sensors installed — it is whether reliable information reaches decision-makers quickly enough for safe containment while a fire remains manageable.
