Basel's Gewerbeverband (trade association) accepts the 2037 carbon neutrality goal but insists on SME-compatible implementation pathways. The Basel2037 joint program was launched to coordinate business transition. The Klimaplattform der Wirtschaft has enrolled over 800 companies. Total estimated transition cost is CHF 3.6 billion between 2020 and 2037, with estimated energy cost savings of CHF 189 million per year.
